Quality Suites Historic Downtown

Nicely updated, clean, friendly staff, and nice indoor pool. We had two queen beds and a couch hideabed. Fit 5 of us just fine for the one night we stayed. They also offer a very nice buffet breakfast with a variety of choices.

Great bfast, was impressed. Only complaint is the room smelled like an ashtray. Update: we returned and stayed in a different room and it was fine. I suppose someone before us smoked in the first room when it's clearly posted non-smoking.

My son & I have stayed many weeks at the Anchorage Quality Suites while he was treated for advanced stage cancer. The staff is very caring and helpful. They call us by our names. We choose the Quality Suites first when available because of the location to downtown, the suite (so my son & I have a separate room & TV) and the staff who genuinely want to help us. We stayed at the Quality Suites the night of the 7.9 earthquake earlier this year, and they were wonderful, even tho they were pretty shook up themselves. We only lost internet. The building was perfectly safe

Excellent location, next to the museum and 5th Ave mall. The rooms are decently sized for the price and were clean. A nice touch were the two flat screen televisions, one in a separate room with a couch and desk. Eggs, sausage and potatoes were available for breakfast along with the usual waffles, cereal and pastries. The staff were the best I've experienced in any Anchorage hotel. They were quick to joke and laugh and appeared to enjoy their work. We will be staying here next time we need to go to Anchorage.

Loved this hotel. Perfect for our needs. My husband likes to watch TV late and I can't sleep with it on. So he could watch it in the living room, while I was able to sleep in the bedroom. Location was very good, close to everything. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, lots of choices, well served. Service was excellent, especially SUI at the front desk, who was very pleasant and helpful. If we go back to Anchorage, we will definitely stay there and will recommend it to our friends.

We stayed there for a week back in March. Was VERY pleased with everything!!! Our first encounter with the staff (Quentin) was amazing!! He was very helpful with all the information about where things were, not only in the hotel, but in Anchorage itself. He went out of his way to make sure we knew right where we were going and gave us several ideas of places to visit while there. The rooms were a nice size for a week long stay, and the location was within minutes of everything downtown. The only complaint I have was really about the time for breakfast. Could go until about 10...when on vacation, people like to sleep in a little. Other than that, we had a wonderful trip and stay in Anchorage. Looking to plan another trip and would love to stay here again, but seems to always be booked!!

When we first arrived we had an unpleasant experience. I had paid for the room for 4 nights in full. We I saw we were going to arrive 1day earlier I called for reservation for 1 more night. I had explained that my money wouldn't be in until the next day. They said no problem you pay when you check out. So I reserved the room. When we got to Anchorage Alaska, coming from Summerville GA, they put us in a room. Later they called and said we would have to leave because my card had been declined. I reminded them that I had already told them my money would be in tomorrow. So we hung out in the lobby. I was tired from traveling 5,000 miles 4 time zones away so I cureled up in the corner and went to sleep. They woke me up and said we couldn't sleep in the lobby. Finally, they gave us another room at a late check in fee. When we woke up my money was in the bank like I had told them it would be. After all the confusion, my stay got better. It is a nice room. It has a living room and desk area, bathroom and sink are separate. There is an open closet area and bedroom. It is fairly clean. All rooms are non smoking. They have breakfast alittle more than a continental breakfast. But less than what I had anticipated. They have a workout station and an indoor heated pool and hot tub. Plus snack and soda machine. The drinks are $2.25 each. Overall I enjoyed my stay after the initial check-in and misunderstanding..

The staff is welcoming and very nice! The rooms are clean and smell clean. The bedroom is separate from the living area by a door. A TV in each room, which is nice if someone wants to sleep and the other person is wide awake. The breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast - eggs, sausage, potatoes, muffins, yogurt, waffles, juice, coffee, etc... Lots of choices all good, no reason to leave hungry. Two things I did not like - the wireless internet was horrible, even in the lobby. An upgrade on the internet is a must for this hotel. The second thing I did not like was the mattress, it was an interspring mattress - I missed my pillow top mattress at home... Needless to say, I did not sleep very well. But I also did not pay top dollar hotel prices. Because the staff was so very nice, the room was so clean, and the breakfast was good I would stay here again.
